JOEY Mayfield installs one anyway \u2014 along with sprawling chandeliers and floor-to-ceiling drapery \u2014 and in doing so gives Edmonton&#8217;s west end its most theatrical night out. This is the JOEY you pick when the evening needs a bit of glitter with its cocktails.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Story\"><\/span>The Story<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The Fuller family has been feeding Western Canada since the days when Leroy &#8220;Bus&#8221; Fuller ran one of the country&#8217;s original A&amp;W franchises; his son Jeff turned that restaurant instinct into JOEY, launched in Calgary in 1992 and grown into a continent-spanning premium-casual brand. Mayfield is its west-Edmonton outpost \u2014 same globally inspired kitchen, dialled-up decor.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_to_Order\"><\/span>What to Order<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Regulars swear the sushi here is among the best in the city \u2014 start with a roll or two, add the crispy prawns, and let the bar build something cold and complicated while you decide between a burger done properly and a full steak dinner. Happy-hour grazing in the lounge is a west-end ritual; the dessert list exists for people who claim they&#8217;re done and aren&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_Space\"><\/span>The Space<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Classy and dark: booths, high-tops and a bar that glows under the chandeliers, with the drapery and water feature pulling the whole room toward glamour without tipping into costume.
